It’s been 11 years since Woofstock originally set the tails of Toronto’s elite dogs wagging in the historic St. Lawrence Market. The festival has now grown so popular that this year’s event taking place May 24th and 25th has been moved to Woodbine Park in the Toronto Beaches.
What is it?
In short, its the biggest dog festival in North America. The festival is expected to draw in 300,000 visitors and 150,000 dogs.
What do you do at Woofstock?
Woofstock really is a festival for the dogs. With an off-leash park, doggie fashion shows and vendors sampling treats, dogs will surely get a kick out of this weekend. Humans and particularly children will be excited about the Cirque de Canine Ultimate Mutts Stunt show, Purina Pro Plan Dog Show, Wiener Dog Races and Stupid Pet Trick show. Why go?
Woofstock is not only a dog show, it is the best people watching activity you will encounter. Owners and dogs dress alike, mingle and generally have fun. The shows are entertaining and there is a lot of pet education booths for adults and kids. Woofstock is also free. It is a great afternoon out on a sunny day and Woodbine Park has a great park and splash pad when you tire of the mutts. Adults, children and dogs of all kinds are invited to the event.
Woofstock takes place at Woodbine Park in the Toronto Beaches May 24th and 25th from 10 am to 6 pm.
